These are shots taken in my photoshoot for the poster. I took the shots from different angles and positions, experimenting and finding out which will be more effective for the poster.
In my research, I found that in many drama film posters, the main subject was the protagonist. I conformed to this convention and made my protagonist the subject in order for the poster to be easily identified as a drama. |
SymbolismIn order to make posters exciting and enigmatic, many posters either use the technique of iconography or symbolism.
I aim to use symbolism that will only be relevant once the audience have seen the film. The symbolism used in my poster will be the protagonists arm placed in front of her face hiding her eyes. The fact that her eyes are hidden can be interpreted as her hiding from reality or hiding from the media. |
ColourColours will have darker tones and they will be natural colours to convey realism. However, the colours will also reflect the general mood/ atmosphere.
|
LightingThe lighting used in drama posters are generally natural lighting. However, different tones are used to evoke emotion. As my drama is of an upsetting nature - I will use darker and more bleak tones.
The dark tones will connote the sadness of the protagonist as well as the darkness that blurs her mind - as a result of her environment. |
